Abstract

With the old World Order coming to an end, development concepts oriented to an industrialistic model - wether of a Western or Eastem mould - fell apart too. Tue author describes the emerging re-ordering of the discourse on development and, in particular, its theoretical track wich graspes developement and ecology when seen and being linked, as an indissoluble problem. There are numerous studies dealing specifically with the linking-up of development and ecology. However, ecologically reordering the discourse on development will not - the argument goes - be able to do without a comprehensive theoretical frame if it wishes to avoid fostering dubious ideologies regarding population politics.
