Abstract

In recent years, climate litigation has increasingly been used to force governments and corporations to take more ambitious climate action. The text identifies four reasons for this phenomenon. In addition, the text discusses to what degree litigation can be expected to be a driver of social-ecological transformation processes. It concludes that struggles for socio-ecological transformation need to embrace a diversity of tactical approaches to be most effective. In some situations litigation is a very good choice.
