Abstract

In times of increasing and worsening crises, critical analyses are needed that inform about social and geopolitical power relations and can bring about action that intervenes in a progressive sense. With this issue, PROKLA pays tribute to a former member of the editorial board and current member of the advisory board who has rendered outstanding services to such a practice for decades: Alex Demirovic, who celebrates his 70th birthday on May 17, 2022. The in a strong sense democratic and thus reasonable establishment of society could be described as his political leitmotif. The editors have therefore asked friends and companions to pay tribute to Alex on his 70th birthday with contributions that take up central themes he has worked on, refer to his work, contain a critical diagnosis of the times, and discuss strategic questions of the social and political left
