The article discusses the consequences of the Corona pandemic on compliance with global labour and social standards in transnational supply chains. Using the example of the global value-added networks of the German automobile and supplier industry and their production sites in Mexico and South Africa, two questions will be explored: What particular challenges does transnational trade union work face in overcoming the Corona crisis, and how can the verification of global labour and social standards succeed at international production sites of German companies abroad?
