Abstract

Concept-transfers between different disciplines have become a main mechanism of scientific progress. Tue Social Science's attitude towards the adoption of topical theories varies from uncritical reception as a 'scientific revolution' to fundamental doubts critcal of ideology. The authors try to overcome this unproductive alternative by pleading for careful case-to-case analyses. They consider that the current practice of draft-transfers favours a hegemonial culture of science and weakens tendencies which deal with the precarious relationship between society and nature.
