Abstract

in the To sustain higher profits in the new global economy, US-American capitalism is adopting increasingly unsustainable forms of production. But not all citizens bear the “externalized” social and ecological costs of American business equally. The working poor and discriminated ethnic groups suffer much more than others by this unsustainable forms of production. A growing movement for Environmental Justice combines social and ecological claims. But it will have to attack not only the distribution of the pollution and the danger but also the capitalist form of its production.
