PROKLA 190 explores the ascent of authoritarian populist parties in many parts of Europe as well as their rhetoric, programs and objectives that oscillate between protectionism and neoliberalism and seek to incite cultural wars. It examines the dynamics of these parties in the context of the respective political constellations, electoral bases and support by various social factions in different countries. One year after the inauguration of the Trump administration, PROKLA 190 also takes stock of the current developments and authoritarian populist governance practices of Donald Trump and his right-wing consultants in the USA.
