Abstract

In 19th century, railways and mobilization of fossile energy broke the »natural« limits of velocity. In consequence, both exploitation of fossile ressources and pollution are growing faster than ecological systems can cope with. Our current usage of velocity diminishes the chances of coming generations, without bringing real advantage to us. »De-accelaration« is the necessary alternative.
