Dieser Artikel zeigt anhand von drei Aspekten auf, warum das Konzept Siedlerkolonialismus hilfreich ist, um den Konflikt im historischen Palästina zu verstehen. Erstens ist die siedlerkoloniale Mission des Zionismus in die Konstitution des Staates Israel eingeschrieben. Zweitens ist die israelische Siedlungs- und Besatzungspolitik im Westjordanland und Gaza seit fast 60 Jahren integraler Bestandteil eines großisraelischen Projekts, mit dem das palästinensische Selbstbestimmungsrecht unterminiert wird. Und drittens deutet die jüngste israelische Militäroperation »Eiserne Schwerter« auf die systematische Auslöschung palästinensischer Existenz in Gaza hin.
