Abstract

In light of increasing militarization worldwide, it is worth discussing the argument that geopolitical disputes have increasingly taken a back seat to conflicts of a geo-economic nature. This is illustrated here by the example of relations between China and the United States. The question arises as to what extent the cooperation, but also the intensified competition, between the two countries has been accompanied by rearmament measures, with the Taiwan issue always taking center stage from the Chinese perspective.
