In dem Beitrag untersuchen wir das emanzipative Potenzial technisch
optimierter Arbeit in Zeiten ökonomischer und ökologischer Krisen. Arbeit und
Technologie werden als ambivalente Kräfte verstanden, die sowohl Emanzipation ermöglichen
als auch Herrschaft reproduzieren. Auf Grundlage einer literaturgeleiteten
Analyse werden zwei Emanzipationsarenen diskutiert: die Befreiung von Arbeit
durch Automatisierung sowie die Emanzipation in der Arbeit durch demokratische
Technikgestaltung. Angesichts der Grenzen beider Ansätze wird für eine dritte Arena
argumentiert, die ein reflektiertes Emanzipationsverständnis eröffnet: die Demokratisierung
von Arbeit als kollektiver Aushandlung geteilter Bindungen.
