Abstract

Präsident Bidens Außenwirtschaftspolitik versucht die Fehler seiner Vorgänger zu vermeiden. Er will anders als Obama die Interessen der Lohnabhängigen besser vertreten und im Unterschied zu Trump gegenüber China traditionelle Verbündete einbeziehen. Der Beitrag untersucht, inwiefern diese Strategie von seiner Wahlkoalition getragen wird und zeigt auf, dass der sich abzeichnende Schulterschluss zwischen europäischem und US-amerikanischem Kapital sowie der Biden-Administration und der EU-Kommission letztlich auf »Capitalism First« hinausläuft.
